South District is one of 37 administrative regions in Tainan, Taiwan, formerly known as the South Suburban Area. The area is located in the southwest side of Tainan city.
Geography: The District borders the East District and Rende District of Tainan City on the east, Erren River and Qieding District of Kaohsiung City on the south, Taiwan Strait on the west, and the West Central District on the north.
Land Area: 28.0383 square kilometers (ranked 33rd of 37).
Population: Male- 61,713, Female- 63,111, Total- 124,824 until the end of December 2018 (ranked 5th of 37).
